A Saturday mobile home fire turned deadly for a male occupant.
The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office responded to a Deacon J. Simmons Road structure fire with possible entrapment at 4:45 p.m.
Baldwin County Fire Rescue arrived soon after and extinguished the flames.
After stifling the fire between 5 and 6 p.m., authorities found Sadarrius Jequan Johnson, 25, lying face down on his bedroom floor.
There were no apparent signs of foul play based on available evidence.
Smoke inhalation wasn't ruled out as a cause of death by press time but Baldwin County Fire Chief Troy Reynolds said the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
“We are waiting on the preliminary from the crime lab autopsy,” Capt. Brad King of the BCSO said. “It appears it's just a tragic accident.”
The fire originated in the kitchen of the Deacon J. Simmons Road residence, according to King.
“You can tell by the damage from the residence that no doubt it started in the kitchen area,” King said.
The home was considered a total loss from the blaze.
