MILLEDGEVILLE —

The Milledgeville Rotary Club held its annual Rotary Speech Contest Thursday at the Milledgeville Country Club.

The contest pitted three local students in a speech that was targeted to the Rotary 4-Way Test or the annual theme of the president of Rotary International, which this year is “Engage Rotary Change Lives.”

Contestants in this year's contest were Chrissy Skinner from Baldwin High School, Elizabeth Savage from Georgia Military College Prep and Paige Meighan from John Milledge Academy.

The winner of this year's contest was Skinner.  She will move on to the Zone Level Competition which will be held on March 8 in Sandersville at the Oconee Fall Line Technical College Sandersville campus.

Winners at Zone Level competition can qualify for scholarships and will be asked to present their speeches at the District conference at Jekyll Island in May.
