Milledgeville Main Street receives an outstanding rating

MILLEDGEVILLE — Milledgeville Main Street has had a great couple of years! The program has received tremendous local and statewide recognition as being a leader in downtown development, even receiving the 2013 Downtown Program of the Year award!

Each year the staff is required to complete an annual assessment that is sent to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Office of Downtown Development to be evaluated for accreditation.

In the past, each Main Street received a letter explaining if they received their accreditation or not. This year, the Georgia Main Street Program has implemented a new Metrics System of grading these assessments for each Main Street community. This new system gives an A thru F rating based on the 10 Standards of the assessment.

The City of Milledgeville Main Street program is proud to announce the program’s overall rating of an A, exceeds expectation, for the 2013 Georgia Main Street Program Assessment. The results of this Assessment Metrics Report will be reported to the National Main Street Center for National Accreditation as well. Another year as an outstanding accredited organization means another year to grow our community and build on the work that has been done throughout the years.
