BOE meets today at board office

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Baldwin County Board of Education meets at 5:30 p.m. today at the board office located at 110 N. ABC St. The agenda includes:

  • call to order;
  • Pledge of Allegiance;
  • roll call - establishment of a quorum;
  • adoption of agenda - approve the adoption of the July 15, 2014, Board meeting agenda as presented;
  • community/public participation;
  • recognition/presentations;
  • action items - approve minutes for the meetings held on June 9, 2014, June 10, 2014 and July 2, 2014; approve July 2014 personnel recommendations as presented;
  • due to the end of the year closing there will not be any financial reports; approve financial reports for the Head Start/Early Learning Center for the  period ending June 30, 2014, for all funds for information purposes only;
  • old business - policy manual revisions - approve the revisions to policy manual tabled at the June board meeting to allow attorneys time to finalize their review of the policies, as presented; approve board policies - GAMA - Possession of Weapons by an Employee and JCDAE - Weapons that were tabled at the June meeting, as presented.
  • new business - awarding of bids; approve School Nutrition Chemical Bid No. 15-201, Milk Bid Renewal and Fresh Product Award through DOD Bid as presented; items to be declared surplus property - approve items to be declared surplus property as presented; attorney fee increase - approve continuing with Sherry Culves with new fee rate for the special education litigation;
  • superintendent's report - Sales and Use Tax Fund Report for the period ending June 30, 2014;
  • executive session;
  • adjournment.
