She also runs the Theatre Sampler class for kids ages 7 and older, where participants learn the more advanced techniques that they will use in a full-scale themed production at the end of the week.
Through these camps, Cannon said he believes that kids will be able to not only make new friends and keep their summer interesting, but also have an experience that could shape their future.
“I’ve seen kids who were too shy to even say their own name on stage Monday that, by the end of the week, were able to take command of the audience,” Cannon said.
When he sees that the kids of former campers are now enrolling, Cannon is reassured of the short-term and long-term impact that Allied Arts has on the children, as well as the arts.
