MILLEDGEVILLE — Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) is proud to announce their 11th annual Totes for Tots Suitcase Drive for Foster Children.

Totes for Tots delivers new or newly new backpacks and kid-sized suitcases to foster children in Georgia, many of whom must shuffle their belongings from home to home in garbage bags during frequent relocations.

The annual volunteer event was first launched by GCS in 2003 and has collected and distributed more than 27,016 bags.

GCS partners with the Division of Family and Children's Services (DFCS) to distribute the bags in the counties in which they're collected. Twenty-four GCS offices across Georgia, including three in Middle Georgia, Macon, Milledgeville and Hawkinsville, will participate in the drive.

The fundraiser is always scheduled to take place on or near Martin Luther King Day.

To participate in the tote drive, drop off a new or nearly new bag at the GCS Milledgeville office Jan. 18 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
