MILLEDGEVILLE — Baldwin High School 10th-grade AP biology students were excited to showoff and display their science fair projects Friday during the fifth annual science fair sponsored by the school science department and science club.
‘This year we received a grant from Society for the Science and the Public to help provide support,’ said Susan McGill, science department chair and science fair coordinator. ‘The students started in early September and finished in December. They had to do hypothesis development, a research plan, conduct research, write a research report and create a display board.’
A total of 34 students created 26 physical and life science projects in hopes to earn one of the top three spots and honorable mention and have a chance to participate in the regional science fair at Georgia College in February.
School science teachers and community representatives from Georgia Power, Georgia College and Lockerly Arboretum volunteered to judge this year’s projects.
The winners and honorable mentions will be announced and awarded Monday.
