Two Baldwin County residents lost their lives Christmas Eve morning in what local authorities have ruled a murder-suicide.

Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee said deputies responded to shots fired at a local apartment complex shortly before 11 a.m.

“We had calls [Monday] of shots fired at Grovetown Village Apartments,” said Massee Monday afternoon. “When we arrived at the scene, we found what appeared to be a murder-suicide.”

Jalisa Scott, 22, and Travis Anderson, 21, were found shot in an apartment upon local law enforcement’s arrival. Anderson is believed to be the shooter.

Anderson died at the scene. Scott was transferred to Oconee Regional Medical Center but later died either en route to the hospital or upon arrival, according to Massee.

Grovetown Village Apartments are located off of Highway 49 in Baldwin County.

According to the sheriff, the two had a history of domestic violence issues.

The couple is survived by a 6-month-old son.
