Baldwin school board meets today

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Baldwin County Board of Education meets today at 5:30 p.m. at the board office located at 110 N. ABC St. The agenda includes:

• call to order;

• Pledge of Allegiance;

• roll call - establishment of a quorum;

• adoption of agenda - approve the adoption of the April 8, 2014, board meeting agenda as presented;

• Community/Public Participation;

• Recognition/Presentations -Laurie Wallace from Baldwin High School will present the Georgia Association of Career & Technical  Educators as the East Central Work-Based Student of the Year for FY13; Blanche Lamb from the Early Learning Center will make a presentation on School Readiness Goals; Dr. Runee Sallad from Early College will make a presentation on overcoming challenges and fostering success;

• action items - approve minutes for the meetings held on March 10, 2014 and March 11, 2014; approve April 2014 personnel recommendations as presented; approve the financial reports for the period ending March 31, 2014, for all funds for information purposes only; approve financial reports for the Head Start/Early Learning Center for the period   

ending March 31, 2014, for all funds for information purposes only; approve the new supervision of children policy/procedure for the Early Learning Center, as presented; approve updated Standards of conduct policy/procedure for the Early Learning Center, as presented;

• old business - approve Legislative Position Suggestions for 2015 as presented;

• new business - school calendar for 2014-2015 - approve the 2014-2015 school calendar as presented; personnel recommendations 2014-2015; approve the personnel recommendation for the 2014-2015 school year as presented; summer hours proposal - approve the summer hours proposal as presented; policy manual revisions - approve the revisions to policy manual;   

• superintendent’s report - Sales and Use Tax Fund Report for the period ending March 31, 2014;

• executive session - for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter and any other matter as necessary; and

• adjournment.
