Mayor presenting at Eggs & Issues

MILLEDGEVILLE —

This Wednesday, Mayor Richard Bentley will present “The State of the City” sharing the successes and challenges of city government.

The presentation is part of the Chamber’s Eggs & Issues Breakfast series where business leaders, community leaders and elected officials take the opportunity to have an open forum discussing issues relating to Milledgeville-Baldwin County.

Bentley said the forum would update attendees on the city’s yearly progress. The mayor said face-to-face discussion helps better inform.

“I feel you learn more when a question is asked and an answer is given,” Bentley said. “A lot of times people will form their own opinions based on something they’ve heard or read and misunderstood. It’s best to go directly to the source and get a more accurate answer.”

Updates on Streetscape projects, the Shaw Building and Central State Hospital redevelopment are in the agenda, as well as budget details.

Through frugal management and a great work force, the city does more with less.

“City employees have really stepped up,” the mayor said. “We’ve been able to do more with less and do it well.”

This session will also provide a forum to address the impact on our business community and identify partnership opportunities.

The event, held at Crockett’s Family Restaurant off North Columbia Street, starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 9 a.m. Tickets are $10 each or $75 for a table of eight. Limited seating is available.
