MILLEDGEVILLE —

Milledgeville Police officers responded Monday to the New Beginning Worship Center located on Southside Drive in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, officers noticed several church members attempting to calm down a male subject that was bleeding heavily from the left eye.

The victim’s vehicle was parked just to the east side of the building, near the back with the driver’s side door open. Just to the rear of the vehicle was a fairly large pool of blood, apparently from the victim.

He was bleeding from the front and back of his head, according to police. The victim was unsteady on his feet, dazed and confused. EMS arrived on scene and transported the injured male to Oconee Regional Medical Center.

The victim stated he was talked into going behind the building for sex. According to the report, the man stated that a female suspect told him to get out the car when two masked men came from the wood line brandishing a weapon. The male was beaten in the head by one of the suspects, while the other suspect removed all items from his pocket. The suspects made off with $240 and the victims keys and wallet, which were both found later in a nearby search.

The victim gave the name of the female as, Ariel or Oriel Williams.

“(The victim) was uncooperative at the scene but spoke with me briefly at the hospital,” Maj. Reginald Hill of MPD said. “He agreed to meet with investigators at the police department for a formal interview.”
