Members of the Brown Grove CME Church donated school supplies to Midway Elementary School Friday.

"Education is part of poverty, so contributing can make a difference," said the Rev. Michael Hill. "We’re serving in any manner to help meet the school’s needs."

The church dropped off book bags, paper, pencils, folders, Kleenex and hand sanitizer.

"We’re very thankful to the church for their donation," said Midway Principal Antonio Ingram. "The children and teachers are always in need of supplies, so this will definitely help them."

Established in 1871, Brown Grove CME Church is located on Browns Crossing Road.
