Dublin VA announces Milledgeville clinic opening

Special to The U-R

DUBLIN — Veterans in the Milledgeville area can look forward to shorter drives to obtain VA medical care.

The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Ga. announced the opening of the Milledgeville VA community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) on Thursday, Nov. 1 located at the A Wing, first floor, of the Pete Wheeler Building on 2249 Carl Vinson Highway.

Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and services will include primary care, mental health, social work and dietary counseling. Other services will be available through the use of  Tele-Health, a new VA initiative that allows veterans to access some healthcare needs using interactive visual technology. Veterans can also call the 24-hour Nurse Triage number at 1-877-424-8212 to speak with a nurse.

“We’re looking forward to bringing VA services to Milledgeville. Being able to provide healthcare to our veterans closer to their homes and in such a beautiful area as Milledgeville is an outstanding opportunity for us and we plan to make the most out of it,” said John S. Goldman, director for the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. “Nothing is more rewarding than serving America’s heroes, and doing our best to provide better, more convenient service for our veterans is always our primary goal.”

Veterans are advised to keep appointments already scheduled at other VA facilities until their care is transferred and an appointment is scheduled at the CBOC.

Veterans requesting care at the new clinic that are not currently enrolled in VA Healthcare may obtain an application form online at, or can visit the clinic after the opening on Thursday, Nov. 1 to pick up an enrollment package.

Please call the clinic for additional information during normal hours of operation at (478) 414-4540.
