Milledgeville career, health fair offers opportunities in middle Georgia

MILLEDGEVILLE — Helms Career Institute's Milledgeville Campus, located behind the Milledgeville Mall, will bring together more than a dozen employers with job-seekers during a Career and Health Fair from 1-4 p.m. Thursday, June 5.

In addition to meeting with companies seeking new employees, those attending this first-ever event at the HCI Milledgeville campus will have free access to health screenings conducted by Helms Career Institute health-care students and instructors, including blood pressure, vital signs and glucose checks, along with education on smoking.

HCI students also will offer free chair massages, and the American Heart Association will provide health information.

Employers registered for the free Career Fair include The Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation, GEICO, Carl Vinson VA Medical Center of Dublin, River Ridge Behavioral Health, Goodwill Staffing Services, Healthcare Plus, Hospice Advantage, Lowe's, Radiology and Associates, Chaplinwood Health and Rehabilitation, Hillcrest Urgent Care, Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, Compassionate Care Clinic, Green Acres Health and Rehabilitation, Family Medical, Gateway Healthcare Facility, Helms College and Helms Career Institute.

The public is invited to attend. The Milledgeville Mall is located at 2400 North Columbia St.

Helms Career Institute, with campuses in Milledgeville and Macon, is an affiliate of Helms College and a subsidiary of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia.
