American Legion holiday bingo continued

Special to The U-R

MILLEDGEVILLE —

A first time player came away with a major bingo prize at American Legion Post 6 Monday, Dec. 23.

The Monday game had an extra incentive in the form of a donated jackpot.

Linda Tuttle, a first time bingo player, was the sole winner walking away with the $500 jackpot. The Legion organizers congratulate Tuttle on her win.

“With the attendance being extremely low one of the regular bingo players donated $500 to be used at a special bingo in hopes it would increase the participation. Well it did, and we had a large crowd, some new players and some old players,” said Bob Schneider, Post member and event organizer.

Since there was a large crowd on Dec. 23, the Bingo Committee decided to hold another guaranteed jackpot, in hopes that this will encourage other bingo enthusiasts to come and play bingo Mondays.

On Monday, Dec. 30, Post 6 will a guaranteed jackpot of $400 with progression per attendance.

This means if there are more players than the previous week the jackpots would increase accordingly.

The American Legion Post 6 located on Log Cabin Road plays bingo every Monday night. The average bingo night includes Speed Ball starting at 6:45 p.m. and the regular bingo of seven games immediately after.

Participants pay $15 for a three-pack card. Up to $25 gets participants in all of the games. Players can buy more as the sellers come around on the floor.

“We are hoping with this incentive we can get our old players as well as our new players to come back. There are so many people that play and make the rounds. They love bingo,” said Schneider.

The money raised pays bills at the Log Cabin post.
