MILLEDGEVILLE — Georgia College Chemistry Club exposed passersby and local youth to the marvels of science Wednesday on front campus as part of National Chemistry Week.

Along with the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, the group demonstrated various experiments to explain science, including a carbohydrate accelerator, exploding pumpkins, and a pyro show with gummy bears.

With the theme ‘Energy Now and Forever,’ the community is invited to the free Family Fun Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Herty Hall featuring a black light maze, hands-on science activities, chemistry magic and a bounce house.

The Chemistry Club will also put on a show at the Milledgeville Mall from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
