Rotary Club's Casino Night benefits community service projects

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Rotary Club of Milledgeville is once again providing the community to enjoy fun night of gaming and socializing at its Casino Night & Annual Auction while supporting the organization’s mission of giving back to the community via various service projects throughout the year.

“The fundraiser benefits the many service projects the Rotary Club of Milledgeville completes throughout each year in our community,” Rotary President-elect Laura Thompson said. “Some of the club’s service projects include our Dictionary Project where club members visit and deliver dictionaries to each third-grader in Baldwin County, and Christmas Baskets project where we provide holiday meals to veterans and families.”

The annual event is slated to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Milledgeville Country Club featuring a live and silent auction, door prizes, raffles, gaming, cash bar and heavy hors d’oeurves.

“Registration starts at 6 p.m. and the gaming tables open at 6:30 p.m.,” Thompson said. “We’ve been doing Casino Night for a few years. Gaming tables will have dealers and be set up for play money for games like black jack, craps and roulette.”

The live and silent auction items up for grabs include an authentic Cajun dinner, a fun fish dinner, a weekend travel package to Savannah, a mountain cabin getaway, T-Bones Nursery yard package, Serenity Wellness Spa couple’s rendezvous package, use of an ultimate tailgate trailer from Towable Tailgates, a full day quail hunt at Burnt Pine Plantation, a ritzy date night, original art work, personal training sessions, children’s swim lessons, guided kayak trip, cheesecakes, gift baskets and more.

“We will have lots of giveaways throughout the night, including a Coach purse and a firearm for the raffle,” Thompson said. “The attire is cocktail wear with black tie optional.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $35 which includes play money, food and entrance into the reverse raffle. Tickets are also available at the door for $50 on the day of the event.
