Rain to clear up by the weekend

MILLEDGEVILLE — For the areas of Milledgeville, Wednesday afternoon is expected to be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers with highs in the lower 70s and southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

There is a chance of showers in the evening, then rain likely after midnight with areas of fog. Lows will be in the mid 50s; chance of rain is 60 percent.

A look at the rest of the week:

Thursday: Areas of fog in the morning; rain;  highs in the upper 50s; southwest winds 10 to 15 mph shifting to the west

Afternoon: Chance of rain near 100 percent.

Night: Mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain in the evening. Then mostly clear after midnight; lows in the lower 30s; north winds 5 to 15 mph.

Friday: Sunny; highs in the upper 50s; northeast winds 5 to 15 mph.

Night: Clear; lows in the upper 20s.

Saturday: Sunny; highs around 60.

Night: Partly cloudy; lows in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Sunny; highs around 60.

Night: Mostly clear; lows in the lower 30s.
