MILLEDGEVILLE — A destructive car accident occurred near the front entrance to West Campus Drive Thursday shortly after 8 a.m. According to TFC Jim Lewis with the Georgia State Patrol, a green Honda traveling southbound in the righthand lane on the U.S. Highway 441 bypass struck a gray Nissan compact car attempting a lefthand turn onto West Campus Drive. The driver and one passenger were traveling in the Nissan, while a female driver was the lone person in the Honda. Lewis said the driver of the Honda, who was not at fault according to GSP, was transported to Oconee Regional Medical Center. The Nissan driver and passenger were high school students. Both individuals also visited the hospital. ‘Everybody was injured. I don’t know the extent of the injuries,’ Lewis said. ‘The Honda driver appeared to be more severe than the others.’
