Two online programs ranked by U.S. News & World Report

MILLEDGEVILLE —

U.S. News & World Report recognized two online graduate programs at Georgia College.

The Master of Business Administration (Georgia WebMBA® at Georgia College) and the Master of Science in Nursing Programs made the list of the “2014 Best Online Education” rankings.

The Georgia WebMBA® at Georgia College ranks 17th nationally—tied with several other universities.

“This is the second year in a row that the Georgia WebMBA® at Georgia College has been ranked in the top 20 online MBA programs nationally by U.S. News & World Report,” said Dr. Dale Young, interim dean of the College of Business. “The ranking reflects the exceedingly high quality and competitiveness of our program in terms of students, support services from our staff and return on investment. Programs are ranked using criteria such as admissions competitiveness, graduation rates, time to degree, total delivered costs and quality of the faculty. Along each of these measures, we are one of the best in the nation in a very crowded and competitive market for graduate business degrees to working professionals.”

The program allows professionals to earn an MBA completely online without interrupting their work and personal lives. Georgia WebMBA® at Georgia College is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier accrediting body for business degree programs.

This marks the 13th year of the Georgia WebMBA® program, which is offered by six University System of Georgia schools.

Three of the WebMBA schools are in the top 50 nationally. Each school in the consortium is ranked individually.

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program at Georgia College also received a designation on the list of the best online graduate nursing programs—ranking in the top 100 in the country.

“The MSN degree program just recently shifted to a totally online delivery format at Georgia College, and we are very pleased to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report” said Dr. Sandra Gangstead, dean of the College of Health Sciences. “Our School of Nursing graduate degree program’s inclusion in the rankings is a testament to the exceptional quality of our long-standing program, the excellent performance of graduates and the impact our graduates continue to make within the nursing profession.”

This is the first time the online nursing program has been eligible for recognition as an online program on the list.
