MILLEDGEVILLE — As advance voting came to a close Friday afternoon, a massive number of registered voters filed into the Baldwin County Courthouse to cast their ballot ahead of Election Day.

“We have 7,545 advance voters who voted in person so far at the courthouse. Last Saturday, around 450 people voted when we were averaging about 500 per day,” said Chief Registrar Rick Williams around 4:30 p.m. Friday in the midst of the bustle. “We have voted close to 1,000 [Friday], if not more. People have been lined up in the courthouse, and everybody has been working and it has gone off without a hitch.”

Polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Each voter must vote at the polling place designated for the precinct in which the voter lives.
