International energy company to visit town

Special to The U-R

MILLEDGEVILLE —

Central State Hospital Local Redevelopment Authority (CSHLRA) volunteer project manager David Sinclair is presently touring various areas in Spain representing Solar Zones, LLC. and the CSH redevelopment efforts.

Accompanied by former Milledgeville resident Charles Humphrey, senior consulting engineer from BCH Sustainable Energy, LLC., Sinclair has been to Madrid, Antequera and Valencia, Spain, meeting with executives of Spanish energy company Elecnor SP. BCH Sustainable Energy is retained by Solar Zones to assist with the design and development of a community solar panel array on 125 acres of CSH land.

Sinclair and Humphrey made a presentation on the future redevelopment of CSH to Elecnor executives at their offices in Madrid on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

“I have encouraged executives of Elecnor SP., to come to the USA and visit Milledgeville to look and investigate for themselves the opportunities and available incentives to job creating companies,” Sinclair said.

Elecnor SP., are active in expanding their international business interests, they recently acquired a New York State natural gas and electrical distribution business for in excess of $120 million.

Solar Zones LLC., is offering Elecnor SP., the opportunity to become involved in the proposed CSH solar panel array project. It is intended that Elecnor’s, subsidiary company Atersa SP., will supply the solar panels to Solar Zones LLC.

Atersa, is an experienced company in solar panel manufacture and installation. The Solar Zones plan will include Elecnor’s assistance with initial training and supervision of Solar Zones’ new operatives.

“It is a must that we give the executives of Elecnor SP., the right impression. The City of Milledgeville and Baldwin County Governments’ have to pull together as one and demonstrate to internationals who are interested in doing business in Baldwin County, that as the communities’ governments, they are well managed, organized, ready, willing and able to assist in every way to make it attractive for an international energy giant to invest in Milledgeville and Baldwin County,” Sinclair said.

CSHLRA Chair Quay Fuller and the Board of Directors along with Executive Director Mike Couch are supporting Sinclair on the CSH/Solar Zones LLC., project.
