7 a.m.: The Old Capital Kiwanis Club meets in Room 2-52 of Herty Hall on the GCSU campus.
Noon: The Rotary meets at the Country Club.
Noon: The Eatonton Kiwanis Club meets at Central Georgia Tech on the James Marshall bypass.
1 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Eatonton Performing Arts Center at Madison Avenue in Eatonton. Come with a partner or e-mail Pat Turney at turney@plantationcable.net for a possible partner match.
2 to 5 p.m.: Free HIV testing at 900 Barrows Ferry Road. (478) 445-5518
5:30 p.m.: The Bicycling Club of Milledgeville meets at Bartram Forest on Carl Vinson Road for its weekly mountain bike ride for all levels. Ride at your own pace.
6 p.m.: “To Your Health” is a monthly series of health-related topics dedicated to improving your life held in the Park Tower Education Center. October’s series will focus on Breast Cancer Awareness. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
7:30 p.m.: Bingo is held at the American Legion Post 523 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Refreshments will be sold. (478) 452-1611
7:30 p.m.: "An evening of classical dance and music of India" will be performed by Pratibha Jena Singh and Kuntala Ray in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public. Pratibha Jena Singh has been trained since childhood by her father, Guru Surendranath Jena in the Odissi style of dance originating from Orissa in Eastern India. Pratibha is in demand for performances around the world including Eastern Europe and Russia. Joining Pratibha will be guitarist, Kuntala Ray. Her passion for guitar and her rendering of light music on Hawaiian slide guitar fetched her fame amongst music lovers. As part of the evening, local dancers Melissa Sproul-Singh and Holly Hattaway, both students of Pratibha, will also perform. This performance is co-sponsored by Allied Arts, Arts Unlimited and GCSU Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity.
