Noon: Central State Hospital honors 120 employees for their courageous actions with the Hospital’s first Lifesavers’ Luncheon in the CSH Auditorium. The honorees were nominated by their supervisors for taking part in acts that were heroic and without them death or serious injury may have occurred. 9 to 11 a.m.: Special Education Child Find meeting for home school parents and private school liaisons will be held in Baldwin BOE dining room.
Saturday, Aug. 23
11 a.m. to 7 p.m.: An old fashioned all-day barbecue dinner from Kinderhook BBQ will be held at The Hut on West Marion Street in downtown Eatonton. The BBQ is sponsored by the Putnam County Democratic Party and will feature guest speaker Commissioner of Labor Michael Thurmond. Forms for those not registered to vote in the November General Election will be available. Campaign literature from democratic candidates throughout Georgia can be picked up.
