DEMMON: Chaplinwood thanks volunteers

MILLEDGEVILLE — It is with heartfelt thanks that I am writing this letter to thank each and every person and group that volunteers at Chaplinwood Health & Rehabilitation. Our volunteers have given countless hours over this past year and many have done so for many years. Chaplinwood is honored to have 24 different groups and 18 individuals that visit our residents faithfully each month.

The center held a Volunteer Appreciation Celebration one April 24 in honor of these selfless people. The celebration had 57 in attendance with so many more that were on our minds and in our hearts during the event.

Chaplinwood recognizes that to be a volunteer it takes generosity and a willingness to give your time to others. It takes understanding because their lives might be very different from your own, as well as empathy, an ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and feel what they must feel. It takes compassion, to truly care about making someone else’s life better, and patience because the process doesn’t always go as smoothly as it might. We appreciate our volunteers for their dedication, to stick with a project and see it through. Our volunteers have shown these qualities and so much more, so thank you from all of us at Chaplinwood for all that you do.

It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with each volunteer in helping our residents have a meaningful and outstanding quality of life.

Thank you again to each of our volunteers for your inspiring dedication and for setting a wonderful example for all of mankind.

Graciously,

Charlotte Demmon
