SANDERS: Boys & Girls Club reaches to community

MILLEDGEVILLE — The Boys & Girls Club of Baldwin and Jones Counties is worthy of your support.  It has been serving Baldwin for over 25 years and Jones for over 15 years.  It helps children from ages six to 16 grow up as good citizens in a world that has many bad influences on them.  Executive Director Paul Bernard has been here working to develop this club since before it started in 1988.  He has a dedicated staff that has been with him for almost as many years.  Many of your neighbors and good citizens of these two counties are alumni of this club.

How can you help support this club?  First, if you are a golfer, you can participate in the Boys & Girls Club Two-Man Scramble 18 Holes Golf Classic Saturday, April 26, at the Little Fishing Creek Golf Course, a fundraiser that Paul has put on almost as long as the club has been here.  Every December, you have seen the Boys & Girls Club Spaghetti Dinner and throughout the year the Boys & Girls Club has other good fundraisers that you can support.  In addition to these,  you can Support-a-Youth by making a $500 donation that is an approximate cost covering the expenses in providing a years worth of Boys & Girls Club services to a child in our community.

Also, I am sure that many of you can think of other ways that you can help this worthy organization, the Boys & Girls Club of Baldwin and Jones Counties.

Thank you,

Hugh A. Sanders
