WEBER: Tourists disappointed with lack of trolley wheelchair access

MILLEDGEVILLE — “The wheels go round and round,” but only for a few.

In reference to your article a few weeks ago ”The Wheels go Round and Round”.

My family visited your wonderful town and community this past week and weekend. We enjoyed First Friday, the Steinway concert and other activities over our four day stay. Milledgeville, being the historic town it is, we decided to take your Trolley Tour. To our utter amazement in 2014, the trolley was not accessible to every member of my family. One of us is wheelchair bound and your trolley does not accommodate a person, child or adult in a wheelchair.

We did a short walk around tour and drove around on our own but as in other cities we visit, a guided tour would have been much more educational and enjoyable.

Hopefully on our next visit, and we do plan to return, your trolley will be updated to accommodate a wheelchair and then truthfully you can report “The wheels go round and round” for everybody.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Weber

Dunwoody
