One thing is certain, life is full of change. After spending 66 wonderful years in Milledgeville, I have decided it's time for me to relocate to Asheville, N.C., to be closer to my daughter. This is a bittersweet time for me. While I am excited about the possibilities of new friends and adventures in Asheville, I am sad to leave all the friends and organizations that have been part of my life for decades. Even though I wasn't born here, there is no place dearer to my heart than Milledgeville.
Of all the many, many organizations and groups I have been involved with over the years, none has meant more to me, or to my late husband, Jake, than Harriet's Closet, which provides support and items, at no charge, to patients of any age with cancer. To all of you who have asked what you can do for me as I prepare to move, I ask you to consider supporting Harriet's Closet as a volunteer, as a contributor, as an ambassador letting anyone you know with this tenacious disease about our services.
I have thoroughly enjoyed calling Milledgeville home. I miss you already.
