A while back I called the office of the dump site. I told them how unhappy I was with the new containers that we are to dump our garbage in. I was told to come after 3 p.m. and someone would be there to help. Today I went to the site and the containers are so high that it would take a giant to be able to dump a garbage can into it!
I can understand having a container that is so high may save money by not having to dump it so often. When I got there, containers were so full that I wasn't sure where to put my garbage. There was no room left in the containers.
I understand that three days ago they were told that the containers needed to be emptied. I think when this is the case, the garbage should be left on the ground. This is a disgrace that the county would sell this service to private industry and not make sure that it is being done properly.
I think that all our citizens that are unhappy with the current arrangement should contact our elected officials. If you feel that you are getting the run around, go to a Web site that can help — Center for Individual Freedom at www.cfif.org. Click on elected officials, put in your nine digit Zip code and click go. You will be given the names of your elected officials. It will give you info on them or you can send them an e-mail. It is made very easy for you.
We need to do something. It must be very difficult for the elderly to dump their garbage.
