Six happy Magnolia State Bank customers walked away with a handful of extra bucks Friday.
In celebration of the Bank of Eastman’s 100th anniversary, Milledgeville’s two Magnolia State Bank branches held drawings for customers to try their luck in two money grabs held Friday afternoon.
Milledgeville resident Shane Braddy was forced to add an unexpected stop to his plans of traveling to Atlanta to see the Kings of Leon Friday night as his wallet had grown $83 heavier.
“I’m going to Atlanta tonight so that [$83] sounds like a good supper to me,” he said.
Magnolia State Bank Branch Manager Lisa Gray told The Union-Recorder that the Bank of Eastman, which owns and operates Magnolia State Bank, wanted to thank its customers by holding a day-long celebration including giveaways, raffles and the money grab.
Magnolia State Bank entered customers into a drawing to take a chance at the money grab Friday afternoon. Milledgeville residents Linda Harris, Braddy and George Griffin won an opportunity to deposit some extra money at the North Columbia MSB branch.
“I was surprised they drew my name,” said Griffin, who walked away with more than $200. “It was a great way to earn a good day’s pay.”
