“We try hard in our group to not tell women what to do. A battered woman has been told what to do throughout her abusive relationship. Our goal is to help them see they have options,” Wilson said.
Graduate Natalie Fields expressed her gratitude for the program and her desire to work as a facilitator for IOBI.
“We advocate the idea of giving back to those who have helped you during this difficult time,” Wilson said, “and giving back can be done in any capacity.”
Meetings are held every Thursday of each month at First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Greene and Wayne streets. Childcare during the classes is provided at no charge. Call Wilson at the solicitor general's office at (478) 445-4445 for more information about IOBI classes.
