MILLEDGEVILLE — More than 1,600 readers took part in this year’s program, with the bulk of the numbers coming from children reading picture books.

The library over the past two months has served as a means for children to continue their learning and increase their reading level skills even when school is not in session.

Each child received a gift bag that included prized and even a gift card from the Fall Line Farmer’s Market.

Although the Summer Reading Club ended, readers can still go by the library to receive their prizes up until July 31.

For questions or additional information on the Summer Reading Club visit the Mary Vinson Memorial Library at 151 S. Jefferson St. or call (478) 452-0677.
