Milledgeville’s newest ladies fashion boutique opened its doors last week on North Columbia Street next to AT&T and The China Buffet.
Maggie Lane, a women’s apparel and accessories boutique, offers a variety of brands for young and sophisticated women alike.
Owner Sarah Nolan is not new to the boutique business. As the owner of several former gift shops in the middle Georgia area, she opened up Maggie Lane in Eatonton in 2003.
“We had a lot of customers in Eatonton from Milledgeville that kept asking us to open up a shop in Milledgeville,” she said.
After a little bit of debate, she decided that Milledgeville was just the place for another boutique.
“We looked at several places and felt like there was a need here for what we sell,” she said.
The store specializes in contemporary and modern clothing, casual and dressy shoes, jewelry and handbags, said Nolan. Customers can find a variety of brands such as French Dressing and I.T. jeans, Brighton jewelry, Big Buddha handbags, Onx shoes and Tribal brand apparel.
Nolan personally travels to New York, Las Vegas and Atlanta to find unique items to sell in her boutiques,
“We have new things coming in every day,” she said, “and we try to provide a fun place with great customer service.”
The official ribbon cutting and opening ceremony for the Milledgeville store will take place Thursday, Oct. 23 at 11:30 a.m. and customers can look forward to door prizes, drawings, special discounts and gifts, she added.
“There’ll be something different every day next week,” she said.
The store is located at 1821 N. Columbia St. It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
