Give yourself a four-legged gift...adopt

As the holiday season approaches, local resident Bobbie Thompson would like to remind the community not to forget its four-legged neighbors.

Thompson is president of Animal Rescue Foundation in Milledgeville. Since its founding as a nonprofit organization in 1983, it has served the animal needs of area counties with an emphasis on Baldwin.

As the days become shorter and the sun sets over ARF’s headquarters on South Wilkinson Street, Thompson and a group of dedicated volunteers are working each day to ensure their furry guests are able to experience a happy holiday season.

ARF is partnering with Iams in the company’s annual Home 4 the Holidays campaign, an adoption drive for shelter animals across the country.
