Just outside the Milledgeville city limit on the corner of Log Cabin Road and Hudson Drive lies a small, nondescript building that passing drivers may only notice for a moment with a glance into their rear-view mirrors.
Inside lies a world where the definition of B-4 means more than just a past event, and I-20 has an off ramp that could lead to money in your pocket.
Every Monday around 6 p.m., residents of Baldwin and surrounding counties converge inside one of the larger rooms of American Legion Post 6 to chat about the weather and discover how life has changed for each in seven days.
As the clock nears seven, players like Milledgeville resident James H. Snow eagerly await the sounds of ping-pong-sized balls bouncing and the call of the numbers and letters they’ve come there to find.
Welcome to the world of bingo, where for a mere $20 you get two-and-a-half hours of letters, numbers, and — more importantly — a night full of fun and winnings.
