Georgia College is hosting the Regional Science and Engineering Fair Friday, and Saturday at Georgia College’s Centennial Center. Kindergartners through high students will compete from 10 counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Hancock, Jasper, Jones, Putnam, Monroe, Washington, Wilkinson and Twiggs.
10 a.m. to noon: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. Saturday, Feb. 2
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Gordon Womans Club will host a flea market at 110 College St., Gordon. The Corner Café will be open and serving barbecue alongside homemade cake and pies. A “Bed in a Bag” will be raffled off (tickets $1). There will be furniture, gadgets, clothes and more. Spaces are available for $5. Contact (478) 233-3003.
3 p.m.: The Readers Book Club meets at Blackbird Coffee downtown to discuss its current selection. Be prepared to suggest or vote on a book for the group to read. The club is free and open to the community.
7:30 to 10:30 p.m.: Ballroom Dancing held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flannery O'Connor Hall at 110 N. Jefferson St. Admission is $5. Dancers of all levels gather monthly at this alcohol and smoke-free event. For more information contact Carol Melder at (478) 453-3345.
