Flu vaccines are now available at the Baldwin County Health Department. They will offer both the traditional flu shot and Flu Mist, which is a nasal spray. Vaccines will cost $25 but are available at no charge to those on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia or a State Benefit Plan through United Healthcare or Cigna. Flu vaccines will also be offered in the schools this year. Parents will receive permission slips from their child’s school in the coming weeks.

10 a.m. to noon: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 4 to 7 p.m.: Milledgeville Rotary Club will sponsor the first Rotary “Chalk-the-Walk” Competition during the First Friday festitivities. Judging will begin at 6:30 p.m. Applications will be available around town at Milledgeville Main Street, local businesses and from Rotarians. Individuals and groups are invited to create chalk designs at the Bobcat face on the front lawn of Georgia College; the fees are $10 for individuals and $25 for groups. Artists will be provided with colored chalk and a block approximately 55” X 55” for individuals or 64” X 90” for a group. Popular choice awards will be determined by pay-per-vote donations of 25 cents.
