MILLEDGEVILLE — The Old Governor’s Mansion presents its Christmas at the Mansion tours Dec. 3-23. Candlelight tours will feature: Music by Sweet Georgia Sound (Dec. 7), the Milledgeville Singers Guild (Dec. 14), the First Baptist Church Handbell Choir (Dec. 19). On Dec. 11 from 1 to 3:15 p.m. the Max Noah singers will perform in the rotunda.

Milledgeville Main Street introduces Downtown Dollars, gift certificates to support local businesses. They can be purchased in denominations of $5 and can be used at more than 30 locations downtown. The 2012 Georgia River of Words exhibition is open and available for viewing from now until early December at the Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St. River of Words is an international environmental poetry and arts project that is coordinated by Georgia Project WET and the Georgia Center for the Book. Creekside Elementary is having a Winter Coat Drive and is collecting new and gently used coats for children’s size six and adult small. Please drop off coats at the Communities in Schools office at Creekside or call the coordinator, Mrs. Specht at 478-456-3127.

7 p.m.: Milledgeville Singers Guild presents “Joyous Voices” at First United Methodist Church on Log Cabin Road. An evening of holiday music ranging from sacred to secular, featuring full choral SATB harmony and two barbershop quartets.
