The sixth annual Fun Day for Kids, sponsored by Tracy Harper Productions along with Butler Ford and Flipper Chapel AME Church, will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Admission is free. Prizes will be given away along with scholarships for area students. There will also be a car given away to one area student. Oconee Regional Healthcare Foundation's Samuel M. Goodrich, MD, Endowed Healthcare Scholarship is now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 academic year. Application packets have been sent to area colleges and universities that offer degrees in healthcare fields of study. Scholarships will be made in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 for the academic year. The guidelines for the Scholarship Fund are: 1) applicants must be enrolled in a healthcare or healthcare-related field of study; 2) a minimum of 2 years toward a program should be completed to demonstrate commitment to the particular field of study for undergraduate programs, all graduate program students meet this qualification; 3) preference will be given to Baldwin County current or former residents, but in the absence of qualified candidates from this area, other applicant qualifications will be considered; 4) the deadline for application submission is May 31.
