Milledgeville-Baldwin County Habitat for Humanity is partnering with the Color Bash company to host a 5K race at the Oconee River Greenway. Registration cost for the event is $40 for an individual and $30 per person when registering with a group of four or more. Children under five may register for free. The event is family-friendly and will feature music and a live broadcast from 797, food from Georgia Bob’s BBQ and vendor booths from various local businesses. 8 a.m.: Yoga at the Greenway has moved indoors to Blackbird Coffee. Bring a yoga mat and/or towel. All ages welcome. $3/1 hour session.
9 a.m. to noon: The Greenway Farmers Market is held at the Oconee River Greenway, Highway 22 West.
9 a.m.: Workday for any volunteers interested in helping with the new community garden being built at the Collins P. Lee Center located at 237 Harrisburg Road. Join an enthusiastic group from all over the county who are working side by side with residents to advance this project. Call Gladys and Joe Ward for more information at 478-453-2565.
11 a.m.: There will be a meeting at the Collins P. Lee Center, located at 237 Harrisburg Road, for any community members interested in the new community garden and recreation project being developed by the Milledgeville Community Garden Association in affiliation with the Baldwin County Parks and Recreation Department. 9 p.m.: The Milledgeville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta will hold its Annual Red and White Scholarship Dance. Donations are $25 a person and $45 a couple. All seniors at Baldwin High School, Putnam County High School and Hancock High School who have been accepted to a college or university or were able to complete and submit an application for consideration for a scholarship are asked to attend.
