MILLEDGEVILLE — Rocket Roller Rink will hold a Public Safety Skate Dec. 15 from 6-9 p.m. The event is meant for public safety officials and their families only and is a thank you for their service. You must present a valid ID to receive half price admission. Call 478-452-6853 for more information.

The Old Governor’s Mansion presents its Christmas at the Mansion tours Dec. 3-23. Candlelight tours will feature: the Milledgeville Singers Guild (Dec. 14), the First Baptist Church Handbell Choir (Dec. 19). On Dec. 11 from 1 to 3:15 p.m. the Max Noah singers will perform in the rotunda.

Milledgeville Main Street introduces Downtown Dollars, gift certificates to support local businesses. They can be purchased in denominations of $5 and can be used at more than 30 locations downtown. The 2012 Georgia River of Words exhibition is open and available for viewing from now until early December at the Mary Vinson Memorial Library, 151 S. Jefferson St. River of Words is an international environmental poetry and arts project that is coordinated by Georgia Project WET and the Georgia Center for the Book. Thursday, Dec. 12

10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists at Oconee Regional Medical Center. 11:45 a.m.: The Civitan Club of Baldwin County meets second and fourth Thursdays at the Golden Corral. Civitan's main thrust worldwide is helping the physically and/or mentally challenged.
