Baldwin County Schools will hold kindergarten registration for children 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013. Registration will be held weekdays March 18-29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Birth certificate, proof of residence, current immunization form, eye, ear and dental forms and a social security card are required. Mark the Magic Man will host a benefit performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the Baldwin Fine Arts Center. Proceeds from the performance will go to the Baldwin GIVES program. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. VIP seating, which includes reserved seats on the first three rows and a backstage pass to meet and greet the cast, are $25. Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates is looking for volunteers for its next training session. CASA is a non-profit organization that works with abused and neglected children that have found themselves involved in the court system through no fault of their own. These children need a voice in court and that is the role of CASA to see that these children have an opportunity to have their voices heard and to received services needed. 8 a.m.: The 100 Black Men of Milledgeville and Baldwin County meet at the Baldwin County Recreation Center on Highway 22. Mentees meet at 10 a.m.
8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The Lake Country Beekeepers Association conducts a Beekeeping Short Course in Sparta at Elm Street Gardens. Pre-registration fee is $40 or $45 on the day of the program. There is a $10 fee for each additional family member and children under 18 with an adult are free. Registration includes a “First Lessons in Beekeeping” book by Dr. Keith Delaplane, handouts, one-year family membership in the association, refreshments and lunch. Preregistration is encouraged. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The Oconee Regional Chapter of Project Linus meets in the Education Center of Park Tower at Oconee Regional Medical Center. The Chapter is open to anyone who wants to provide needy children with a comforting blanket. Attendees should bring their lunch.
3 to 5:30 p.m.: Author Stacy Lawrence-Campbell of Sparta will be participating in a book signing for her debut novel “Dream Girl Awakened,” published by Simon and Schuster. The book signing will be held at the CJE Foundation, 2866 Highway 22, Sparta. The event is free and open to the public and there will e-books available for purchase.

Noon to 4 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center.
