MILLEDGEVILLE — The City of Milledgeville will host its annual fireworks show at the Milledgeville Mall tonight when the sun goes down. The Fall Line Ramblers, a Milledgeville-based band, will perform in front of the mall at 6 p.m. and will play until around sunset. Former Milledgeville Idol winner Jon Peeler will accompany The Fall Line Ramblers and will sing the national anthem approximately three minutes before the show begins. Along with live music, there will be vendors, face painters and more for kids and their families to come enjoy.

The dedication of the Bobby Parham bridge over the Oconee River on Highway 49 will be held July 10 at 10 a.m. Parham served as a state representative for 35 years and as a Baldwin County Commissioner.

Georgia’s Old Capital Museum Society will host the eighth annual Artifact Identification Day in the museum’s Native American Gallery July 12 from noon to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and everyone who attends is invited to bring found objects or family heirlooms. Items can include, but are not limited to: rocks, Indian artifacts, pottery, farm implements and Civil War items. The museum will also host its annual Game Day fundraiser. The game day is July 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your friends, cards and game boards to have a good time and support the museum. Prizes will be awarded. Seating is limited so contact 478-453-1803 or 478-453-2553 to reserve your $25 seat. The price includes lunch.

Allied Arts will sponsor a beginners photography workshop taught by Dana Wiggins July 14-17 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Allen’s Market Building, 101 W. McIntosh St. The registration fee is $65. For more information, to register, or otherwise call 478-452-3950. Youth art camps will be held July 7-11 in Allen’s Market Building. Registration is $70 for children 6 and up. Debi Slone will be the instructor. Session I is for 6-8 years from 9 a.m. to noon and Session II is for 9-12 years from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 6 Dana Wiggins will be the facilitating artist for Allied Arts’ Sunday Artists program. The class will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and will focus on working will still life. Participants are asked to bring their own supplies. The registration fee is $10.
