MILLEDGEVILLE — In honor of National Travel and Tourism Week CVB will hold free historic trolley tours May 3-10. The tour will run Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m., seating will be first come first serve. The Old Governor’s Mansion will also offer tours at $7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

GMC will hold a parade Friday, May 9 at 2:30 p.m. on Grant Parade in order to honor all mothers for Mother’s Day. Employers are asked to allow mothers of GMC children to take off during that time in order to be present. The speaker will be Penny Hall, senior vice president of BB&T.

The 10th Congressional District Republican Party is planning a Congressional Candidate Rally and Forum at the Parkside Main 8 Theater, Highway 44 next to the Publix Shopping Center, in Greensboro. 10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Cafe Central is open every Tuesday at Freedom Church in Milledgeville. A free meal will be served to everyone who comes. For information on volunteering call 478-453-4400.

11 a.m.: The public is invited to attend a weekly meeting at the Collins P. Lee Center at 237 Harrisburg Road to discuss plans for the Lucille Harris Community Garden and Solomon Harris Walking Trail, as well as to hear updates about efforts by the Parks & Recreation Dept., Milledgeville Community Garden Association, Baldwin Family Connection and the Habitat for Humanity Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative. 12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor.

6 p.m.: The County Commission meets in the Baldwin County Courthouse in Room 319.

6:30 p.m.: American Legion Auxiliary Post 523 meets at 430 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. All members are urged to attend.

7 p.m.: The Sweet Georgia Sound Sweet Adeline Chorus meets at St. Peter Claver auditorium in Macon to practice, socialize and sing. It is for women only. 478-335-3010.
