MILLEDGEVILLE — GMC will hold a blood drive at the Cordell Event Center from noon to 5 p.m. April 29 for the Armed Services Blood Program, the official United States military blood program. For more information contact 478-387-4718.

The Sallie Ellis Davis House is currently showcasing the exhibit “Prominent Black Educators.” The show features painted portraits of local educators accompanied by biographies. The exhibit will run until April 30. Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for seniors; university faculty, staff and students are free. For information call 478-445-4545.

The opening ceremony for a Bible reading marathon will take place May 1 at 6 p.m. on the steps of the old courthouse. The marathon is in preparation for the National Day of Prayer May 2. Allied Arts will host Tom Brantley and Missionary Ridge at Allen’s Market May 2 at 7:30 p.m. On May 3 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. a watercolor painting workshop will be taught by Dana Wiggins at Allen’s Market, 101 W. McIntosh St. The registration fee is $65.

Clinton’s War Days Remembered will be held May 3-4 in Clinton, between Gray and Macon off US Highway 129. Gates open at 9 a.m. with the battle beginning at 2:05 p.m. Tickets: adults, $5; students 18 and under, $3; children under six, free; Memorial Service, free.

The GC Department of Theatre and Dance will present the 2014 Dance Minor Spring Concert May 3 at 8 p.m. and May 4 at 2 p.m. For tickets visit gcsutickets.com: $12, general admission; $8, seniors, faculty/staff and non-GC students; $5, GC students

Camp Good Grief is now accepting applications. The deadline to apply is May 5.

Free IMPACT pre-service training classes will be offered for those interested in becoming a foster or adoptive parent. Classes will begin May 3 and go through June 14. Families are asked to attend all classes, which will be held on Saturdays. For more information contact 478-445-7020.

The Milledgeville Youth Program will be offering free tutoring four days a week for five weeks for grades three through 12 at CGTC from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers are welcome and students are asked to bring their work assignments.
