MILLEDGEVILLE — Maddox Investing in America Inc. will provide free sack lunches to children in low-income areas on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer. Volunteers are needed to help package and deliver the lunches. If you would like to volunteer please contact Timothy and Tarneshia Maddox at 478-696-0112 or 478-234-9283.

June 3 through July 19 the Baldwin County Nutrition Department provides free meals to children. (No meals will be served July 4-5.) The meals will be served at Baldwin High School, Monday through Friday. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A school bus will deliver and serve lunch to the following sites: Graham Homes, 11 a.m.; Duplex City, 11:25 a.m.; GNETS, 11:45 a.m.; River Bend Apartments, 12:10 p.m.; The Manor, 12:40 p.m.; Finnagan’s Mobile Home Park, 1:05 p.m.; 5th Street Mobile Home Park, 1:30 p.m.; and Lockwood Mobile Home Park, 1:50 p.m. There are no income or registration requirements and any child up to age 18 may eat free. The Haddock Community Enrichment Center is a new non-profit organization to be located at 187 Peach St., Haddock, formerly Idella Duncan Elementary School. A Steak Plate Sale to benefit the renovation will be held on June 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Piggly Wiggly on North Columbia Street in Milledgeville. June 15 and 22 the Kappa League will hold a Karwash/Yard Sale at Century Bank on North Columbia Street. All proceeds from the event will be sent to Moore, Okla. in support of tornado victims.

June 17 through June 21 Chaplinwood Health & Rehab will be celebrating Certified Nursing Assistants Week. Vendors who would like to participate are encouraged to contact Chaplinwood at 478-453-8514 and ask for Melissa Francis or Charlotte Demmon.

Throughout June the Animal Rescue Foundation Inc. (ARF) will hold a cat adoption special. The adoption fee special is $25 for teenage and adult cats that have been at the shelter since before May 20. ARF is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. ARF is located at 711 S. Thursday, June 6

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Harriet's Closet, a free supply closet to help fill the needs of cancer patients, is open. The nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients in Central Georgia has relocated next door to Georgia Cancer Specialists building at Oconee Regional Medical Center. Noon: The Rotary meets at the Country Club.

Noon: The Eatonton Kiwanis Club meets at Central Georgia Tech on the James Marshall bypass.

12:30 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Ave. in Eatonton. For more information contact Betty Roper at 706-467-3079.

3 p.m.: The Baldwin County Board of Assessors meets in the Baldwin County Courthouse in Rm. 104.

3 to 5 p.m.: Digital Bridges Open Computer Clinic is open in the Knight Community Innovation Center, 127 W. Hancock St. Work station availability is limited. The clinic is designed to teach basic skills to adult beginning computer users. Participants may come with specific questions or for general knowledge. 4:30 p.m.: The Baldwin County Chapter of the Fort Valley State Alumni Association meets at the public service building at the Milledgeville Police Department.

6:30 p.m.: The Milledgeville Area Patriots meet at Victory Baptist Church on Meriwether Road. The meeting is open to the public.

7 p.m.: The Milledgeville Lions Club meets at the Golden Corral on North Columbia Street.

7:30 p.m.: Bingo is held at the American Legion Post 523 on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Refreshments will be sold. 478-452-1611.
