A benefit concert for Have a Heart Save a Life Animal Rescue, featuring music from Martin Swinger and Scott Little, will be held Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at Allen’s Market, 101. E. McIntosh St. Tickets are available at Old Capitol Pet Care and at the door for a $20 donation for the homeless animals of Baldwin County.
The Lake Country Beekeepers Association will conduct a Beekeeping Short Course on Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Sparta at Elm Street Gardens. The pre-registration fee is $40 or $45 on the day of the program. There is a $10 fee for each additional family member and children under 18 with an adult are free. Registration includes a “First Lessons in Beekeeping” book by Dr. Keith Delaplane, handouts, one-year family membership in the association, refreshments and lunch. Preregistration is encouraged. Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates is looking for volunteers for its next training session. CASA is a non-profit organization that works with abused and neglected children that have found themselves involved in the court system through no fault of their own. These children need a voice in court and that is the role of CASA to see that these children have an opportunity to have their voices heard and to received services needed.
