9 a.m. to noon: The Fall Line Farmers Market is now open every Saturday morning in the parking lot behind First Presbyterian Church, 210 S. Wayne Street rain or shine. More than a dozen middle-Georgia farmers and producers who live in a 100-mile radius of Milledgeville sell a wide selection of naturally grown, seasonal vegetables; grass-fed beef and lamb; heritage breed pork; free-range eggs; hormone-free dairy products including butter and yogurt; artisan bread and cheese; local honey and preserves; baked goods including specialty cakes; perennial plants and more. Come sample, browse and take advantage of the opportunity to meet and talk with folks who are passionate about providing locally grown, delicious food. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: The Milledgeville Museum Association invites the public to partake in Museum Day. Museum Day is meant to promote the treasures that are museums. On Museum Day all museums in Milledgeville will welcome the public in free of charge if they present a Smithsonian Museum Day ticket, tickets are available at www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday. The participating museums in Milledgeville are: Andalusia, Blackbridge Hall Art Gallery, Brown-Stetson-Sanford House, GCSU’s Natural History Museum, Georgia’s Old Capital Museum, John Marlor Art Center, Lockerly Hall and Arboretum, Old Governor’s Mansion, GCSU Museum/Flannery O’Connor Room.
