MILLEDGEVILLE — The UGA Extension office is offering assistance to local residents seeking to enroll in health coverage throught he Health Insurance Marketplace. The deadline to apply for coverage is March 31. To get assistance or make an appointment to enroll in coverage, contact Tammy Allen, UGA Navigator for Johnson, Laurens, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Bibb, Jones, Peach, Houston, Baldwin, Putnam and Jasper, at 706-424-1395 or at tallen5@uga.edu. The Lions Club will hold a fundraising Spaghetti Dinner at Crockett’s Cafeteria Feb. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from Lions Club members or at Crockett’s.

AARP Foundation TaxAide volunteers will be in the area from Feb. 2 through April 15. To apply visit www.aarp.org/taxaide.

A free notary public training will take place March 6 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Baldwin County court house. To reserve your spot call 478-445-6324.

All high school students in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District are invited to participate in the 2014 Congressional Art Competition. The winning artist will be recognized nationally and be eligible for a collegiate art scholarship. For competition guidelines visit www.broun.house.gov/kids/art.htm. Deadline is April 1. Tuesday, Feb. 25

10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym.

10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Milledgeville Lions Club conducts free eye screenings at Cafe Central at Freedom Church, 500 Underwood Road.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Cafe Central is open every Tuesday at Freedom Church in Milledgeville. A free meal will be served to everyone who comes. For information on volunteering call 478-453-4400.

11 a.m.: The public is invited to attend a weekly meeting at the Collins P. Lee Center at 237 Harrisburg Road to discuss plans for the Lucille Harris Community Garden and Solomon Harris Walking Trail, as well as to hear updates about efforts by the Parks & Recreation Dept., Milledgeville Community Garden Association, Baldwin Family Connection and the Habitat for Humanity Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative. 12:30 p.m.: The Eatonton Duplicate Bridge Club, an official member of the American Contract Bridge League, meets at the Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Ave. in Eatonton. For more information contact Betty Roper at 706-467-3079.

12:45 p.m.: The Milledgeville Kiwanis Club meets at the Milledgeville Country Club. Visitors are welcome to the program and to lunch with a club sponsor.

5 to 8 p.m.: Eagle Ridge Elementary fundraiser night at Zaxby’s. Ten percent of total sales will be donated to the school.

5:00 p.m.: Milledgeville City Council holds a work session at City Hall.

6:30 p.m.: Milledgeville City Council meets at City Hall.

7 p.m.: The Sweet Georgia Sound Sweet Adeline Chorus meets at St. Peter Claver auditorium in Macon to practice, socialize and sing. It is for women only. 478-335-3010.
