MILLEDGEVILLE — The Old Governor’s Mansion will feature Civil War era exhibits throughout November. “Lincoln: the Constitution and the Civil War” will be on display until Nov. 15. “Out the Change the World: The Life and Works of John Oliver Killins” will be featured at the Sallie Ellis Davis House from Oct. 30.

ORMC and the American Cancer Society are offering free smoking cessation classes Nov. 5 and 12 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Education Center. Call 477-454-3705 to register.

The Oconee Valley Iris Club will hold its annual Fall Iris Show at the Milledgeville Mall. Entries will be accepted from 9-10:45 a.m. The show is open to the public from 1-4 p.m.

10:30 a.m.: A Senior Olympic badminton club will be held at the Baldwin County Recreation Department gym.

11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Cafe Central is open every Tuesday at Freedom Church in Milledgeville. A free meal will be served to everyone who comes. For information on volunteering call 478-453-4400.

11 a.m.: The public is invited to attend a weekly meeting at the Collins P. Lee Center at 237 Harrisburg Road to discuss plans for the Lucille Harris Community Garden and Solomon Harris Walking Trail, as well as to hear updates about efforts by the Parks & Recreation Dept., Milledgeville Community Garden Association, Baldwin Family Connection and the Habitat for Humanity Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative. Hancock between the Chevron Golden Pantry and the Huddle House. Free customer parking is available in the top parking area, and additional parking is located in the freshly cut grassy field just behind the lot.

6 p.m.: The County Commission meets in the Baldwin County Courthouse in Room 319.

6:30 p.m.: American Legion Auxiliary Post 523 meets at 430 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. All members are urged to attend.

7 p.m.: The Sweet Georgia Sound Sweet Adeline Chorus meets at St. Peter Claver auditorium in Macon to practice, socialize and sing. It is for women only. 478-335-3010.
